Hotel Concordia is a small one-star hotel on the fourth floor of a period building on Via Roma, in Palermo's historic centre. A lift takes you up; the rooms, about a dozen in all, have wrought-iron beds, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom, and several look over the old town from a balcony.
It makes a practical base for exploring the city on foot and without a car: couples, solo travellers, families and small groups can choose between singles, doubles, a junior suite, triples and quadruples, plus one room type that includes a transfer from the airport.
The front desk is open 24 hours, breakfast is a buffet and Wi-Fi in the rooms is free; on request the hotel arranges an airport shuttle, with a charge, and excursions in the area. The central station and the airport bus terminus are 300 m away, the Fontana Pretoria and the Quattro Canti less than ten minutes on foot.

The hotel stands on Via Roma, 300 m from Palermo Centrale station and the airport bus terminus, so you can wheel your case there in a few minutes. The rooms, about a dozen in all, have wrought-iron beds and simple furnishings; all but the single have a balcony, and some look out over the city and the landmarks of the old town. It is a small, personal address, far from the feel of a large chain.

Breakfast is a buffet with continental, Italian, English, vegetarian, halal and gluten-free options, and can also be taken away; whether it is included depends on the rate you choose. The front desk is open 24 hours, an airport shuttle can be booked on request, with a charge, and one room type already includes the transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Hotel Concordia is at number 72 Via Roma, the street that runs from Palermo Centrale station through the city's historic centre. It is a lively, busy area on the edge of the Kalsa district, and most of Palermo's monuments and museums can be reached on foot.
Palermo Centrale station · 300 m
Guests mostly praise the location, very handy for the station and the old town, and the friendly staff, generous with tips; cleanliness and value for money are also well rated. Criticism focuses on street noise, somewhat dated furnishings and bathrooms, Wi-Fi that can be slow and a breakfast that divides opinion.
